From the Memorial for Jayne Marie Swiderski Fischer at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg, Florida.

Jayne Marie Swiderski Fischer died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at her home in Leesburg, Florida. She was 58 years of age.

Jayne was born July 8, 1957, in Wausau, Wisconsin to Joann Jane Buska and Joseph John Swiderski. Jayne was the oldest of the four Swiderski sisters, but because of her petite size and youthful smile, she was often thought to be much younger. When Jayne was 15, her family moved from Wausau to Leesburg where they had a home on Silver Lake. Jayne attended college and worked for several years as a graphic artist and typesetter at Tech Spec Printing.

Jayne realized her dream of becoming a wife on November 27, 1982, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg, when she married Robert Anthony Fischer, a Savannah native, who's family, like Jayne's, had relocated to Leesburg over a decade earlier. The reception was a celebration of Jayne's Polish heritage with traditional Polish food and an authentic Polish polka band her father flew in from Wisconsin.

Jayne realized another one of her dreams in October 1986, when she became a Mom, giving birth to her first child, Robert Anthony Fischer, Jr. Jayne gave birth to two more precious boys: Geoffrey Edward born in 1988 and Patrick James born in 1991. Jayne took an active role in her boys' school and after school activities. She volunteered at Treadway Elementary School for many years and shared her creative talents with the students and teachers.

For a short time Jayne returned to the work arena, operating a decorative stamp store near the mall in Leesburg. Jayne also used her artistic talents to create gifts and handmade cards that she sent to family and friends for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. She loved planning and hosting family celebrations and having fun with her sisters and their families. She was also an avid organic gardener, growing and sharing the fruits of her harvest with her family.

Jayne is survived by Robert Anthony Fischer, Sr. and their three sons: Robert Anthony, Jr. and Geoffrey Edward of Fort Worth, TX and Patrick James of Leesburg; her parents Joe and Joann Swiderski of Leesburg; her three sisters and their spouses: Judy and Neil Fischer, Jacqueline and Lanny Husebo, and Joye and John Vermillion; six nieces, two nephews, and two great nieces.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Leesburg, Florida, Monday, June 6, 2016, at 10:30 A.M. during which Robert Jr., with his brothers Geoffrey and Patrick delivered the following tribute.

Thank you all for being here today. We know many of you spent a lot of time and effort to be here to support the family and each other, and we have felt all of that support since the moment we found out. We are very blessed to have you all in our lives and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for all that you did for our mother during her life. Many of you, many of us spent many hours over many years supporting her, loving her, and enjoying life with her. A lot of us probably feel now that we could have done even more; in fact she probably told many of us that straight to our faces. Our mother was many wonderful things, but shy is certainly not one of them. She always had the courage to speak her mind and she was the most adventurous soul we’ve known. I’m sure we all have fond memories of our mom where we can think back to ourselves, “well I did not see the day or the conversation going in that direction”. But we are all better for it. She really made us all consider different perspectives and taught us all a lot. Us boys are thankful for that and all that came with it.

It wasn’t always easy to learn what we needed to learn growing up. We hated our video game time limits, no kid likes doing chores, and she wouldn’t let us feel sorry for ourselves for very long. But looking back she always did what was best and her heart was always in the right place. She truly did love us unconditionally. She taught us how to clean a house, maintain a yard, cook food for ourselves, clean our laundry, to always count our blessings, and always think of those less fortunate.

Whether we were skiing in Vermont, whitewater rafting in Carolina, on a mission trip in West Virginia, visiting the nation’s capital, going to Disney World for summer break, begrudgingly going to a folk music or art festival, visiting her favorite place, the beach, or just building forts and playing ball at home, she exposed us to it all. She encouraged us in our faith; she encouraged us in our studies; she encouraged us in whatever hobby we had. Whether we thought we were going to play in the PGA, join the family real estate business, follow in Dad’s steps, or no matter what we changed our minds to she supported us and believed in us. We always knew that. She so thoroughly prepared us to be adults, to be men, and to appreciate all that life has to offer that I really can’t think of what she could have done better. She really was the best three boys could have hoped for, and she gave her best to us every day.

Beyond being a wonderful mother, she was a firstborn daughter that brought many happy moments to her parents, grandparents, and the entire extended family. She was a beloved sister to three, a loving wife for over 20 years, and a good friend and kind soul to many. No matter what troubles she had or what challenges life threw her way, she always could find the strength to look out for others, whether it was someone lonely at church, families who couldn’t eat on Thanksgiving, pen-pals in 3rd world countries, or people in local shelters – she took the time to help anyone have a better day and a better life.

Mom, many people have told us boys that we were your pride and joy. We know how much you loved us and we know how proud we made you. We just hope that you are able to see us all from heaven now. We hope that you realize how proud we all are of you. We want you to know how much everyone loved you and we all noticed the good you brought into the world, and we are so much better for it.

My heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to your beautiful family on this most sad occasion. May God hover over and console and love you as you grieve the loss of your precious daughter, wife, mother.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy and prayers to all of the family. May she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Robert and "the boys", along with Neil, Judy and extended family. My faith has taught me not to question life's many unexpected twists and turns and to stay focused on all the fond memories. You have an abundance that should make you smile. We have had a unique long distance friendship for many years that I cherish and you are very special to me. Much time has passed from that chance meeting in Savannah that gave me the opportunity to be a piece of your family and share many memories along the way. I know your bond and love will keep you strong and support each other through this difficult time. Love you all, Jim Zardecki
