Our beloved mother and grandmother, Edna Wiscombe Brown, left this mortal existence in Beaver, Utah on October 23, 2015 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of James Newland Wiscombe and Nellie Weight Wiscombe of Mapleton Utah. Edna attended Mapleton Grade School and graduated from Springville High School. Following graduation, she attended Brigham Young University for two years. She married Thales C. Brown on November 5, 1941 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on May 18, 1946. Edna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church positions. She enjoyed being the Secretary and Treasurer of different organizations. She and her husband served a mission for the LDS church to New Zealand and they worked in the St. George Temple for seven years.

Edna loved literature and poetry and was a member of literary and other clubs in Parowan for several years. She was a Nurses Aide at the Valley View Medical Center for 13 years and loved the people she assisted there. She enjoyed embroidery and machine sewing. She bottled many quarts of fruit with her husband and won many ribbons and awards for her entries in the Iron County Fair. She gave much compassionate service to others. She also took much pride in her beautiful rose garden and the flowers in her yard.

Grandma always loved Labor Day and having family around her. She also enjoyed holidays, summer birthday gatherings, and watching her grandchildren play ball. She and grandpa enjoyed taking their grandchildren with them on trips in the camper. She demanded respect and wanted kids taught responsibility.
