Cedar City, UT Ernest Higbee Heyborne, age 82, died peacefully at home on May 18, 2015 in Cedar City, Utah. He was born Feb. 17, 1933 in Cedar City, the only child of Samuel W. and Mary Higbee Heyborne. He married Cheryl Ann Outsen on November 28, 1970 in Salt Lake City.Ernie graduated from Cedar City High School and attended BAC. He operated snack bars in Salt Lake and owned and operated Ernie's Market in Cedar City. His hobbies were gardening, music, reading, riding his bike and meteorology. He volunteered as a spotter for the National Weather Service and reported weather conditions to KUTV for several years. He is survived by his wife of Cedar City, son Bryan (Holly) of Herriman, daughter Mary Ann (Jeremy) Nickolai of Belton, TX, 2 grandchildren, half-brothers Craig (Jana), Clay (Leanne), and stepsister Susann (Tex) Asay, all of Cedar City. Preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Pat Heyborne and stepsister Kathryn Craw. At his request, his body was donated to the University of Utah for research. A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 22 at 1:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 690 S Cove Drive, Cedar City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Committal will be in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Salt Lake City at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Red Rock Center for Independence, 168 N 100 E Suite 101, St. George, UT
