Marcia Brewster Bruton passed away May 26, 2014 at her home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Known as Mimi to her grandchildren, she is survived by her husband, David A. Bruton, son R. William Blake of Indialantic, FL, daughters Shannon B. Waite of Captiva, FL, and Jessica Bruton of Jacksonville, FL, brothers William G. Brewster of Wellington, FL and Martin M. Brewster of Allentown, PA.

Born in Orlando, FL, Marcia graduated from Winter Park High School, earned a Bachelors degree from Rollins College, and a Masters degree from University of South Florida. Marcia retired from the staff of the Orange County Library System. Following retirement, she was an active leader in the New Smyrna Beach Marine Turtle Conservancy.

A Funeral Mass service was held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Winter Park, Florida. This is the church where her children Will and Shannon attended school and where her daughter Jessica was baptized. Marcia was laid to rest in Palm Cemetery, Winter Park, FL.
