Margaret E. (Hiss) Thompson, 63, of Kissimmee and formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 with her husband “boyfriend” of 41 years lovingly at her side.
She was born June 9, 1950, in Garrett, Ind., to Robert and Anna (Felke) Hiss.
She married Richard Thompson on June 1, 1973.
Together they built and nurtured a blended family with sons Rick (Glenda) Thompson, Kerry (Dawn) Thompson, Kristopher (Laurie) Thompson, Mark (Jacqui) Pedley and son-in-law Bob Storlie. Their daughters include Tina Thompson, Kristie (Maurice) Conley and Kelli Storlie.
Her greatest joy was time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including, Justin, Quinn and Chase; Kristy, Bart and Makayla; Brandalyn, Dustin, Brennan, Wyatt, Conner and Alanna; Honey, Ben and Blake; Karli, Dale and Emma; Maurice, Racine, Jason, Bradin and Brooklyn; Amber, Colin and Cameron; Ashley, John and Ava; Austin, Matt, Josh, Zach, Cheyenne and Roscoe; Colleen (Dan) Hooks; Kat (Josh) Guillen; and Hayden.
Surviving are her brothers, Tom, Ed (Elaine), Nick (Deb) and Bob Hiss. Sisters include Mary Hiss, Judy (George) Schreiber and Sally (Steve) Niedermeyer.
Preceding her in death were her infant son, Stephen Edward, and her parents.
Margie graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1968, and Ravenscroft Beauty College. She had a special place in her heart for senior citizens and did in-home care for 22 years. She had a passion for taxes and volunteered with AARP taxes for 28 years. She was a member of Poinciana Christian Church in Kissimmee. She will always be remembered for her love of others, her creativity and her ability to do everything she put her mind to. She was fun and never knew a stranger.
