Mr. WILLIAM P. HURD JR., 47, 6101 Yucatan Drive, business administrator of Orlando General Hospital and active in Junior Olympic swimming events, died Sunday.
A native of Urbana, Ohio, where he was born March 1,1916, Mr. Hurd came here 12 years ago from Dayton, Ohio. He was a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge of Dayton. Here in Orlando he coached the Florida Flying Fish swimming club at the Azalea Park pool, was state age group chairman for the AAU's Junior Olympic and vice president of the Mid-Florida Swim Assn. He was also a member of the American Accounting Assn., Kiwanis Club of Orlando, and Christ the King Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his widow, Betty Jane; daughters, (Mrs. Robert) Virginia Cox, Decatur, Ga., Penelope Sue, and Kris, Orlando; stepmother, Mrs. Flo Hurd, Redington Beach; brothers, Robert B., Yellow Springs, Ohio, and John G., Chillicothe, Ohio; sister, Mrs. James Hoover, St. Petersburg.
