Mae Ridenour, 73, of Piqua went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 7:59 a.m. at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit, Troy. She was born on March 4, 1942, in Huntsville, Tenn., to the late Virgil and Versie (Burress) Cross. She married Tom Ridenour on June 10, 1977, in Piqua. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2003.

Philip John Saraf

Philip Saraf, well-known Savannah artist and chef, beloved brother, uncle, cousin, mentor and friend, passed away peacefully June 9, 2016, at Hospice House in Savannah, surrounded by family and friends. He was 86 years of age. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, June 14 in St. James Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances to Hospice Savannah – Post Office Box #13190, Savannah, Georgia 31416-0190 or St. James Catholic Church – 8412 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah, Georgia 31406-6198.

Reynaldo Chaves De La Cruz

Reynaldo Chaves was born on July 3, 1935. His parents were Juan Francisco Chaves and Cándida De La Cruz. He had five brothers and sisters: Carlos, Laura, Andrea, Ada and María.

When he was a teen during the Korean War he was stationed in Korea and Japan. He was not a part of any battle, but he had lots of stories to tell about his stay there.

Cándida De La Cruz Santiago was born in Isabela, Puerto Rico on January 5, 1917. She was the daughter of José Ramón De La Cruz y Rodríguez and Adela Santiago y Vega. They had four children: Jose Ramón (Pepín), María Teresa (Tere), Luz Elena and Cándida (Canda or Candita).

Cándida married Juan Francisco Chaves on September 15, 1934. They had six children: Carlos, Laura, Reynaldo, Andrea, Ada and María.

Juan Francisco Chaves was born on June 23, 1899 in Isabela, Puerto Rico. His paternal grandfather Gonzalo García-Chaves y Lopez was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Gonzalo moved his family to Puerto Rico sometime in the mid 1800s. Juan Francisco's paternal Grandmother Maria Higinia (Juana) Reverón Mena was born in Caracas Venezuela. Gonzalo and Maria met sometime during the mid 1800s in Isabela, Puerto Rico and married.

Your greatest gift to us was not only your unconditional love for your family but your personal testimony on how God healed you of Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer at the age of 24, that had metastasis. You were given 4-6 months to live.

Jayne Marie Swiderski Fischer

Jayne Marie Swiderski Fischer died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at her home in Leesburg, Florida. She was 58 years of age.

Jayne was born July 8, 1957, in Wausau, Wisconsin to Joann Jane Buska and Joseph John Swiderski. Jayne was the oldest of the four Swiderski sisters, but because of her petite size and youthful smile, she was often thought to be much younger. When Jayne was 15, her family moved from Wausau to Leesburg where they had a home on Silver Lake. Jayne attended college and worked for several years as a graphic artist and typesetter at Tech Spec Printing.

Nancy Heffelfinger

Nancy Jean Masologites Heffelfinger, age 66, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, went peacefully to her treasured Lord Jesus at home on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

She was born on October 17, 1949, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Broomall, PA, where she attended Marple Newton High School. In addition to her academic excellence, Nancy loved sports. She captained her tennis team and played a fierce game of field hockey. She earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics and child development from the University of Delaware.

Anne R. Vidmar Dyson

Anne R. Dyson nee Vidmar, age 95, passed away on May 21st at the Healthcare and Rehab Center in Sanford. Anne was born in 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Mary Vidmar. She worked and retired as a pediatric nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband and Naval officer William Dyson and a baby daughter Carole Ann Dyson. She is the beloved aunt of Robert Widmar of Weeki Wachee, Florida, Sue Axelrod of Windham, Ohio, Linda Vidmar of Bedford Heights, Ohio and Kathy Keeler of Houston, Texas.

Richard H. "Dick" Wells

Capt. Dick Wells of Apopka, Killed in Air Crash Over Europe

APOPKA -- This entire community was saddened Thursday when the news was received that Capt. Richard H. (Dick) Wells, local boy, had lost his life in an air crash in Europe. Particulars were not given in the official notice which came to his parents, only that he had been killed in an aircraft accident.
