Beloved All Souls Catholic School principal, Jennifer (Jenni) Paquette Heneghan joined the Lord on March 3, 2015. Jenni was born in St. Albans, Vermont on September 26, 1963 to James Paquette and Anne (Wahlen) Criss. Her family moved to Middlebury, Vermont in 1979 where she graduated from Middlebury Union High School. After high school she moved to Florida and attended Stetson University, where she was involved in many student organizations and graduated with her Bachelors in Liberal Arts French and Spanish. She later returned to Stetson to complete her Masters degree in Education.

In 1986, she began a 24-year tenure with the Volusia County School system, where in 1993 she received the recognition as Volusia County Teacher of the Year. During her time with Volusia County Schools she held positions at Deltona Junior High as a teacher; Deltona High School as teacher and later athletic director; Heritage Middle School as assistant principal; and Community Learning Center West as principal. In 2010, she accepted the role as principal at All Souls Catholic School in Sanford. Jenni was an active member of the Diocesan Superintendent’s Collaborative Council from August 2011 to present, and a member of the 2015 NCEA Steering Committee for the Orlando Convention in April. She was the Diocesan elementary principal representative to the Catholic Youth Sports organization (formerly known as Catholic Youth League) for many years. She also was working with the Coaches Play like a Champion Day at Bishop Moore High School.

Jenni also worked next to her husband every Sunday for 22 years at the family business, 4B’s Restaurant.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert John Heneghan (who proposed to her on the football field at Deltona High School during a homecoming football game halftime show) and their son, Colin James; her mother and step-father, Anne and Ric Criss; step-mother, Susan Paquette; mother-in-law Barbara Heneghan; siblings Stefanie Paquette Audet, Christopher Paquette and his wife Carri, and Amy Paquette Smith and her husband Dennis and sister-in-law June; nieces and nephews, Kirsten, Kelsey, Calli, Ben, Ava, Aubrea, Mason, William Jr., Jeffrey, and Patrick. She is predeceased by her father James Paquette and brother-in-law William.

Jenni touched so many lives and had such a positive impact on those around her in her family and in the community. Her smile, great wit and genuine humility will be greatly missed, but the legacy of her ministry will carry on in her spirit.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 10 at All Souls Catholic Church on 1st Street by the Most Reverend Bishop of the Diocese John Noonan. The homilist was Father Richard Trout and priests of the diocese concelebrated the Mass. Interment followed at All Souls Catholic Cemetery. To help fulfill Jenni’s dream for her son to attend college the Colin J Heneghan College Fund was established.

The Mass for Mrs. Heneghan was amazing! The church was filled to capacity with standing room only. All Souls adult choir with soloist Liz Jennings (former choir director) and All Souls Catholic School choir sang beautifully. The most touching event was the tribute paid to Jennifer by her mother Anne Criss. It is obvious, even to those who did not know her well, that she has touched the lives of many and through them many more to come.
Mrs. Heneghan's obituary and all who spoke of her, remarked on her great sense of humor, so I feel she would appreciate this postscript. Mrs. Heneghan's funeral made the traffic alert on radio station 102.5 FM around noon with the reporter warning drivers that "25th Street in Sanford is blocked due to a funeral."
