Jack Dwayne Sears was born to Charles Edward Sears and Susie Marie Frye on June 21, 1931. The family eventually moved to Florida where Jack spent most of his life, before he eventually moving to Effingham, South Carolina where he passed away on January 11, 2007. He is interred at Florence Memorial Gardens in Florence, South Carolina.
Jack was survived by a spouse, Rosemary E. Weaver Sears who went to join him on April 6, 2013. She is interred with him.
Jack was a quiet man, loved by his three children Robin Smith, Michael Smith, and Marnie Sears (from a previous marriage to Terri Kurtz). He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
For many years he lived next door to his parents in Jacksonville, Florida. When they passed, he and Rosemary decided to move to South Carolina where they spent their time with family and friends. They enjoyed gardening and caring for their new home. They grew a lot of their own food and had a large garden in their backyard.
Jack was an accomplished mechanic and also a cartoonist. His work years were spent as a film editor for WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida, and that is the company that he retired from.
As his daughter, my favorite thing about my dad was that he always called me "darlin' ". To this day when I hear anyone say it I smile and think of him.
He and Rosemary can be found here on the Find-A-Grave index.
