All Souls Catholic Church parishioner, Joseph E. Hearn passed away on July 6, 2016 in Lake Mary, Florida.
Joseph was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 12, 1921 to Joseph and Minnie Lee Hearn. After finishing high school he joined the Air Force and served for 32 years, achieving the rank of Full Colonel and receiving numerous awards including 2 purple hearts and 3 service awards. Joseph served in World War II as a Flying Tiger, in the Korean War and also in Vietnam. Joe retired from the military in 1971 and moved to Central Florida with his family and became communicants at All Souls Catholic Church.
Joseph was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening, painting and anything where he could showcase his creative talents.
Joseph is predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth. He leaves behind his son Joseph Edward Hearn III, his daughters Lisa Ballinger, Eugenia Robuka, his 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Joseph also leaves behind his trusted companions Susan and Frank Duran.
A visitation was held on July 11, 2016 at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. A requiem Mass was celebrated on July 12 at All Souls Catholic Church on S. Oak in Sanford, and burial followed at Oaklawn Park Cemetery.
