Josephine Katherine (Zuber Brooks) Lapitsky, 100, of Russellton, Pennsylvania died 29 March 2014 in the comfort of her home. She entered this world on 25 March 1914 in Peterson (Tarentum), Pennsylvania. She was born to the late Alois Zuber and Catherine (Piros) Zuber Brooks and raised by Paul (Brokas) Brooks and her mother Catherine. Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Nickolas Konstantinovich Lapitsky, who died on 15 April 2000. Mrs. Lapitsky worked for Armour Meat Packing Company, the Andy Gard Toy Factory, and later the North Pittsburgh Telephone Company where she remained for 10 ½ years before retirement. She was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Russellton since 1914. She enjoyed being a homemaker, babysitting her granddaughter, gardening/canning, and working puzzles. Josephine was a very generous and caring soul who spent much of her life helping others and caring for a variety of animals. Josephine was a precious mother to her daughter, Emily (Lapitsky) Riehl, of Russellton who survives her. She made her home with Emily. Also surviving Josephine is her granddaughter, Allison (Riehl) Ryall and her husband William Ryall of Maine; her great-grandchildren, Jessica Hilliard, Joshua Hilliard, Nickolas Ryall, and Hannah Ryall also of Maine; a sister, Betty Simonetti, of Russellton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Zuber Brooks and Joseph Brooks; four sisters, Anna (Zuber) Stopchuck, Mary (Zuber) Kanzic, Stella (Zuber) Wartinsky, and Margaret (Brooks) Papriska. Funeral handled by the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKRELL ROAD, RUSSELLTON, WEST DEER TWP, Pennsylvania. A Catholic funeral mass was held in Transfiguration R.C. Church, Russellton, West Deer, Pennsylvania. Burial in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township, Pennsylvania.
