Priscilla Dale Walthour, age 65, died peacefully on April 14, 2016, in Blairsville, Georgia. She was born on August 15, 1950 in Lake Wales, Fla., to the late Thomas Shepard and Reba Holmes Shepard. She graduated from Valencia Community College in Orlando, Fla., with an A.S. Degree in Nursing. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Hendrickes. Priscilla married the love of her life, Eric Walthour Sr., on Sept. 12, 1969. She became a baptized member of the Mount Sinai Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Orlando, Fla., in 1976. Priscilla thoroughly enjoyed singing, poetry, cooking, sewing, nature walks, and gardening. She served others in various capacities such as Sabbath School Teacher, Sabbath School Superintendent, Pathfinder Counselor, and in the Temperance Department. For a number of years, she was a member of the church choir and the trio "Sounds of Joy." She served as a youth counselor at an Adventist residential treatment program and as a registered nurse in different capacities. In 2015, she retired from working as a school nurse in Hamilton County. She is survived by her husband, Eric Walthour Sr.; daughter, Kemilla (Edmond) Charles; son, Eric (Korene) Walthour Jr.; granddaughter, Sydney; her siblings, Willie T. (Brenda) Shepard, Rosemary (Herbert) Holly, Jerome (Cynthia) Shepard, Reba D. Shepard; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2016, at the Orchard Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 951 North Orchard Knob Avenue, Chattanooga. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
